On May 7th, the webinar “Towards Excellence: The Pursuit of Accreditations” took place. The online event, which was free and open to the public, provided a historical overview of the healthcare accreditation landscape in Brazil, future trends, and other related topics.
In today’s healthcare environment—where quality and safety have become absolute priorities—achieving accreditation is considered far more than a competitive advantage. It represents a true commitment to excellence.
By pursuing certifications such as ONA, hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers begin operating with a focus on sustainable results, engaging professionals, and delighting patients.
The webinar featured the participation of Interact partners with extensive experience in the field of Healthcare Accreditations: Bruno Bono, from Bono Consultoria, a partner of Interact Evolution; and Henrique da Silva Sousa, from Qualité Soluções Estratégicas, a partner of Interact RS.

Understanding ONA Accreditation
ONA, the National Accreditation Organization, is responsible for developing and managing the Brazilian standards for quality and safety in healthcare. Since 1999, when its first manual was published, ONA has worked to ensure that healthcare institutions in Brazil adopt management practices that contribute to improved patient care.
According to information provided by ONA itself, more than 80% of accredited institutions in the country currently follow ONA standards, which are classified into three levels: Level 1 – Accredited, Level 2 – Fully Accredited, and Level 3 – Accredited with Excellence.
As a member of ISQUA, the International Society for Quality in Health Care—an international non-profit organization committed to promoting healthcare quality worldwide—ONA adheres to global standards. In other words, although the certification is issued in Brazil, it meets the same rigorous criteria required internationally.
